PostCards from the web

Hi Everyone-PostCards from the web is a monthly newsnote geared towards small businesses but I hope that everyone can find some useful information.

This month's postcard is devoted to Opt-In Email campaigns and how they can increase your bottom line.

Travel Tips: I'm a very big proponent of using Opt-In email newsletters (e-zines) as part of your emarketing. I just wrote an article for the Business Council of Westchester on this topic. If you missed it through the Council mailing, make sure to read "Opt-In for Writing an E-Zine".

Best Bets: We just launched a site for Lambrides, Lamos & Moulthrop, a nonprofit accounting and bookkeeping firm on Long Island and New Jersey. One of the newsletters on their site, discusses the Making the Most of E-mail. Although the article is geared towards nonprofits, the principles are the same for any organization. An organization's email strategy can be far more important than its web site. In fact, the number of emails read far exceeds the number of web sites people visit!

Helping small professional firms create sites that work!
Favorite Spots:
Internet users who have opted in to receive regular e-mail from a financial services business derive more satisfaction from the relationship than those who do not according to a consumer poll conducted by Bigfoot Interactive. In addition, the poll also found 78 percent of consumers who opted in to receive e-mail from a credit card issuer were likely to recommend the issuer to others. Read the full story.

Fun Spots: Googlism.com is a tool that searches Google to attempt to learn the web's opinion on people, places or events. I found it great for a giggle. When I put in Martha Stewart the responses ranged from Martha Stewart is a goddess to Martha Stewart is satin disguised as a home maker.

Have a great April!
